October is HEART UK’S National Cholesterol Month (NCM) which aims to increase awareness of elevated cholesterol levels and heart disease and raise funds to identify and provide solutions
2.3 million UK adults are living with Coronary heart disease (CHD)1
Elevated cholesterol levels & poor dietary habits are key modifiable risk factors for heart disease
- Over 50% of UK adults are living with high cholesterol levels1
- New research highlights that less than 0.1% of the population are achieving the Eatwell guide recommendations2
HEART UK’s Ultimate Cholesterol Lowering Plan© (UCLP©) is a dietary solution that has the capacity to bring about significant cholesterol reductions and uses behavioural strategies to help motivated and improve adherence for the long-term.
Developed by expert health professionals, the three-step highly flexible plan provides realistic solutions that can be tailored to any patient’s preferences.
Long-established poor eating patterns are difficult to change. Some of the key barriers include lack of knowledge and confidence in cooking skills as well as the misperception that healthier options compromise on taste. The UCLP©’s practical resources aim to provide consumers with realistic and practical solutions that are easy to adopt. Thus, the UCLP© recipes are produced not only to be heart healthy but also deliver on taste.
