What we use:

What we use:

The main ingredient in our big pots is PP (polypropylene), 100% safe, recyclable into planet friendly things, if the local infrastructure allows it. The outer sleeve is recycled cardboard. Our favourite – the more we use the less plastic we have to!

The PP pot can be recycled if you have the right system where you live. Who knows, it could have a whole new life as a cosy fleece or a compost bin. And the wrapper? Just peel it off and recycle it with all your other paper and cardboard.

Keeping everything fresh, the seal is aluminium, Seals in freshness, good; hard to recycle, bad; one for our to do list! The outer lid is PET plastic. Safe, strong, turns into any shape, turns into new pots if the right recycling infrastructure is installed.

And because it’s so strong, the lids can be re-used over and over again. And we make sure our customers know that.

And in those countries where we’ve managed to remove the lid altogether (yay!) we make sure our customers know how to reseal the pot. Less plastic, less CO2, just the same enjoyment.

Why we use it:

This combo makes for a pot strong enough to hold a sharing size helping of our delicious plant-based alternative to yogurt, keeping it perfectly fresh until you dive in.

What makes us happy:

  • Right now, we need the plastic to keep everything watertight but at least adding the cardboard means we can use less of it.

  • The fact that the cup and sleeve are both fully recyclable. Of course if separated and sorted correctly and the right infrastructure is there.

  • The virgin paper sleeve is changed into a recycled paper version.

  • We’ve removed the outer lid on top. Less plastic, less CO2.

  • Once we’ve found an alternative to aluminium, our cups will be 100% recyclable.

What we’re working on:

  • A more sustainable, recyclable solution to that aluminium seal just as soon as someone invents it. Trust us, we’re on it.

  • And while we’re on it, we’ll also find a better solution for the single use PET lid.
