We’re all about cheerleading life’s triers, because any step – big or small – is a positive step in the right direction. Progress is progress – and that’s something we’ve believed in ever since we became the plant-based pioneers back in the 1980s in Europe.

Way back when
1980
1980 was when our story began. We thought: ‘what if the goodness of soya could be turned into something useful for the planet's population? Soon after, our wholesome soya drink recipe was born, together with our appetite for a tonne of other plant-based goodness.
1988
1988 was when it all started to come together as we opened our factory in Wevelgem in Belgium.
1996
In 1996 we grew our factory empire further, opening one in Sojinal, France and not long after, in 2000, we opened another facility in Kettering, UK.
2007
2007 was a very exciting year for us as we opened our shiny new headquarters in Ghent! Woooohoooo.
2012
In 2012 we celebrated the launch of our almond and hazelnut drinks, plus some serious demand for the rest of our products!
2015
2015 marked the publication of our first sustainability report. It featured our promise to reduce our CO2 emissions and water usage, plus other great stuff like using sustainable natural resources, reducing our sugar and fat content, and working towards local soya cultivation. Boom.
2017
In 2017, Danone purchased WhiteWave meaning we became part of the big Danone family.
2018
In 2018 we were super proud to become B Corp Certified – joining a community of leaders using businesses as a force for good.
2018
More exciting times happened in 2018 as we launched our first plant-based ice cream. Yum!
